I'm impressed at the amount of work you have done. have you done any research in Butler County ( which is next to Wilcox County). My father Jesse L. Norris (b 1904)has a Robert Norris listed on his SS# application. My fathers mother was Ella Mckee. I am not sure if Robert and Ella were ever married, but Ella is listed in the 1920 census as Ella Norris. Thats about all I know re: Norris line. I did see some intersting coincidences on your pages, however, my great great grandmother's name was Annie Hutchinson (also a mulatto) and husband was name Sammie

Hello,
I apologize for the delay responding. I'm just seeing your response for the first time. There do seem to be some similarities in names. When and where were your Annie and Sammie Hutchinson born?
If you prefer, you can respond to me directly at bjsmothers AT bellsouth.net.
Thanks.

Greetings, I'm searching for family ties from Mobile, Alabama. Our surname goes by the name of Payton. We are African Americans, but I was told that we have cuban blood in our heritage as well. Do anyone have the history about the Afro- Cuban background that took place during the 1800-1900's in Alabama?
Thank you,
EZ
